Why grateful to lockdown? Is lockdown something to be appreciated? Most people would be very surprised to hear that someone is grateful or thanking the lockdown. What is there to be appreciated when your freedom of movement has been taken away from you?

Why grateful to lockdown when some senior citizens cannot go out to their favourite places such as libraries or cafes for their late morning or afternoon teas and chats with friends? Or even go for walks to see the beauty of mother nature!

Why grateful to lockdown when pensioners or senior citizens who are cannot leave their residences and go to cafes such as M&S pretending they’re enjoying a cup of coffee with friends, while in actual fact they’re running away from their homes in order to save heating bills.

Why grateful to lockdown? Just image what is doing to our youngsters when they cannot go out to do what they enjoy most especially over the weekend, instead they are locked 24/7 with their parents?

It’s evidence that the list is so long that you cannot name everything that has been restricted or forgotten/affected due to the lockdown. However, there is the positive side of this lockdown hence people are supposed to be grateful to the lockdown.

Count your Blessings

Why grateful to lockdown? Though most of us perhaps our emotions are still running very high or like a driverless vehicle. However, we should be very grateful and count our blessings.

You will probably agree with me that there are some days when you feel that you’re really lucky that you are still breathing and you have seen another year! That’s a good reason to be grateful and celebrate, lockdown has saved your life!

We should be grateful that the Lord hasn’t forsaken us during these tough times. He has shown us his Mercies. Why shouldn’t we be grateful and appreciate every moment?

However, there is a lot to be grateful to the lockdown, as it is for everyone’s safety. Most of us have realised how fragile our lives are, today you are laughing and joking the next day you’re gone.

Kindness

Why grateful to lockdown? During this lockdown, most people have become kind and very helpful. People look after each other. It was hard for a stranger or someone you don’t know to say hi or even smile at you. However, during this lockdown, people will actually greet you and have a little chat about how you’re feeling. This lockdown has shown the other side of people.

Why grateful to lockdown? There are so many things to be grateful for. During this lockdown there are a lot of things that you can do which can have an impact on your life and other people too. I mention a few and in my next article, I will go into detail about how each item has an impact on your life.

Learning new hobbies and skills

People have become very helpful and kind!

It’s important to note that at the end of the day it’s you who can decide whether to turn the lockdown into a nightmare or into one of the happiest time in your phase of life. You can be one of those people who ever grumpy and none stop complaining of this and that! Remember time is a precious commodity as such utilise your time wisely. You have everything at your disposal.

Forget all Worries:

It’s a known fact that humans sometimes worry so much about the unknowns. Sometimes we have to be a bit adventurous and forget all the worries around us. Just take a look at this monkey below no worries at all in the middle of the road.

Why grateful to lockdown? It would be awesome as a retired person to take this lockdown as a wake-up call to everyone. It’s time to unleash your potentials. Don’t continue to lock your potentials. Do something during this time when you have so much time at hand and help others.

Enjoy your lockdown and utilise your days wisely.
